The smell of blueberry pie and an especially scrumptious-looking French toast bake completely fill our kitchen, while A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack is playing in the living room. The dog and cat are snuggled under the table, and I am waiting for Scott to get home.
I spent the day watching William skiing. He’s been skiing for two years now, and this is the first time I’ve seen him. It was joyous. He’s so natural-looking, and you can see that he loves doing it.
This year, we have a little, scraggly Christmas tree from my grandmother’s woods, and one very pretty wreath on our door. There are a couple Christmas cards and a paper wreath Will made hanging in the kitchen. Not too many Christmas lights up. But it feels more like Christmas than it ever has in my entire life.
Happy holidays to all of you. Enjoy the moments, don’t rush around, make sure you savor the dishes, and receive joy from being with your loved ones.
