Our twin lambs born in spring of 2013, Sawyer and Finn, have not experienced a winter yet. They don’t know how good they’ve got it compared to what their mom had to deal with last year.
Last year, we had a three-sided shelter to keep them dry and out of the wind. But it had its limitations; it was a dirt floor and not overly insulated.
This year, the sheep come in the barn every night. They have comfy, warm hay to sleep on, and no wind whatsoever.
But every evening when I go out to let them all in, Sawyer and Finn stare at me like I’m the world’s biggest jerk; they hate the cold. They give me the evil eye, I always imagine they’re thinking, “Hey lady, we’ve been out here freezing our fleeces off all day!”
Ungrateful kids. Jeez.
